Dundas Peak: A Not-So-Hidden Gem

Located in Hamilton, Ontario, this beautiful park, also contains a beautiful waterfall and breathtaking view of the forest and city. I went on this hike on Thanksgiving weekend with my family and it was one of the most relaxing hikes ever. The view was breathtaking as the trail led up to the peak.

The beautiful rays of sunshine peaking through the colourful forest. This was my favourite shot from that day! It was near the beginning of the trail and really set the tone for the rest of the trail.

Here we have a view from the trail (not even at the peak yet, and look at those colours). It was a bit of a gloomy day. It started raining on our way back to the car.

Contrary to popular belief, it is actually quite terrifying knowing that a few inches away from you, you could fall a few hundred feet. Even though that was the case, I sucked up my tremendous fear of heights and sat on the ledge as I tried NOT to fear for my life!

GO JAYS GO!! (If only we made it to the World Series!) Story behind this picture was my brother and I had worn our Jays hats on the hike because the Jays were playing in an elimination game that day, so we cheered them on from a mountain peak! They went on to win that game and series, but are now sitting at home watching the World Series instead of playing in it :(

You know, I really envy the people who can just casually dangle their legs off this edge because I was terrified to do it, thinking I would slip and fall. So if you've ever been to Dundas Peak and dangled your feet of the edge nonchalantly, props to you! I was just admiring the beauty of God's creation.

And out of the ground the LORD God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Genesis 2:9

The picture of me above was looking to the right side of this picture and this was the view from another angle. It was 360° of breathtaking views. It was really cool because there were train tracks (as you can see) and I thought it really added a cool dimension to the picture and scenery.

"I don't wanna fall off," her brother said, as she backed up closer to the edge, fearing that she would fall a longgg way down. This was taken very close to the peak, but we had to crawl through some trees and dirt to get this beautiful view. I wish there were more views like this closer to Toronto!

Let me know if you have any day trip ideas if you live in the GTA!
