Best of 2015! Drugstore & High End
For this post, I've picked out some of my favourite drugstore and high end makeup. This year, the drugstore really stepped up their game and came out with a lot of new products that were awesome. While most of these products are new to me in 2015, some of these may not have come out in 2015. These are just products that I have discovered and LOVED in the year of 2015. Let me know what your favourites are in the comments!
Primers
High End: Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer
This primer is awesome for people who want smooth looking skin ALL DAY LONG! It is quite the splurge of a product, but it's so worth it for special occasions!
High End: Laura Mercier Foundation Primer
This is a great hydrating primer for you girls with dry skin! I usually have pretty normal skin, but the winter has made my skin super dry and this has been the thing making my makeup stay looking great all day. It goes on a bit tacky so that your foundation sticks to it and really makes it last so much longer! I love that it keeps my skin moisturized all day too!
Drugstore: L'oreal Miracle Blur Primer
This is one of those primers that I use when I notice more unevenness and bumps on my skin. It does a great job at making pores and bumps disappear! It's more pricey for a drugstore product, but still worth it if you find it on sale (which is what I did!)
Foundations
High End: Too Faced Born this Way Foundation
This is a great hydrating and natural looking foundation. I would say it's medium coverage and very buildable. I love that it doesn't get cakey when you add more layers for more coverage. This is just a very comfortable feeling foundation because you can't really feel it on your skin, but it covers everything you need it to!
Drugstore: Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation
This is usually my everyday foundation. It's the most natural looking and moisturizing foundation ever! The consistency is very different than any other foundation I've ever tried. It is, like the name says, a serum, and is so light on the skin. If you are just starting off with makeup or don't like too much makeup, this is the foundation to go for!
Drugstore: L'oreal Infallible Foundation
I was waiting for the longest time to try this foundation that I've heard everyone talking about! It really is a full coverage foundation, but feels like nothing is on your skin at all. I would choose this foundation over a lot of my high end foundations because it does the exact same thing and is so natural on the skin. The only thing is that it can cling onto dry patches, so I usually use a hydrating primer with this foundation.
Concealers
High End: Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer
How could I not talk about the most popular concealer of 2015?! This concealer needs no introduction other than if you haven't tried it, please do.
Drugstore: Maybelline Master Conceal Concealer
I love this concealer for under the eyes! It covers everything and it is so brightening under the eyes!
Drugstore: Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
I wish this was sold in North America, but I asked my family to buy it for me when they went to the UK for vacation this past summer. This is awesome at concealing spots and I use this on a daily basis when I don't use too much foundation or other makeup. Having this around my redness and under my eyes just makes me feel and look so much more awake!
Setting Powders
High End: Mac Prep & Prime Loose Translucent Powder
This stuff is amazing when I want a light finishing powder and don't want any more coverage. It gives the best and most natural finishing touch under the eyes on top of concealer. It's just an all around really great setting powder.
Drugstore: Maybelline Fit Me (Regular formula & Matte & Poreless)
Matte & Poreless Fit Me: I use this all over my face and it just ensures my concealer and foundation stays on all day!
Regular Fit Me: I use this under my eyes and I love this as a setting powder as it gives a bit more coverage and brightens up the undereye area!
Brow Products
Drugstore: The Face Shop Eyebrow Pencil
This pencil is the best and cheapest brow pencil ever! I've seen high end pencils with the same shape and colours that are way more expensive! I believe this is around $4 CAD.
Drugstore: L'oreal Brow setting mascara
This stuff is the bomb! I swear, it could keep my brows in place through ANYTHING! My brows look the same from morning to night.
Blush
High End: Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes
This stuff is the bomb! They are supposed to last 24 hours and I swear they could if I wore makeup for that long. I take naps and exercise and it still lasts on my skin! These are the most natural and long lasting blushes. I really recommend these because they are so worth it. They are just the right pigmentation so they look natural on your skin and makes your cheeks glow.
Drugstore: Milani Baked Blushes
These blushes are amazing and make your cheeks glow. When I use these blushes, I never have to use highlighter because it already looks so glowy.
Honourable Mentions: Clinique Cheek Pop
The clinique cheek pops are my go-to blushes and have a very unique consistency. It's between a mousse and powder form. They last forever and because of their consistency, it looks so natural on the skin. It looks like a glow from within.
Bronzer/Contour
Drugstore: NYC Sunny Bronzer
Highlighters
Drugstore: Hard Candy Bronzer in "Tiki"
This is a great everyday highlighter as it's not too intense and gives just the right amount of glow.
High End: Becca Highlight in Champagne Pop
Need I say more? B-YOU-TIFUL.
Eyeshadows
Drugstore: L'oreal Infallible Eyeshadows
These eyeshadows are more like pigments. They are so incredibly pigmented and are so beautiful on the eyes. It's great for a pop on the lids and brightening the lid area on the eyes.
Mascara
Drugstore: Maybelline Lash Sensational
The best mascara I've ever used. It looks so natural, but volumizes and lengthens the lashes. It doesn't get clumpy or anything with layers. It has a great waterproof formula that doesn't rub off on me during the day.
Finish Spray
Drugstore: L'oreal Infallible Finishing Spray
This spray make my makeup look more natural and gives my skin more of a natural glow rather than keeping it super matte. I love that it's a drugstore alternative to the UD setting sprays and it's great for everyday use to have that extra spritz of hydration.

I wasn't sure what I thought about this brow pencil at first, but I've been loving it because it can be so precise on the brows and it looks so natural! I would set this with my brow gel listed above and it will stay all day long :)
